The rival Galmudug and Puntland states have traded accusations over the start of Inter-clan conflict in eastern Mudug region in central Somalia.
The command of Galmudug’s Darwish forces has blamed Puntland forces for attacking Ali Waal village, saying their forces have repulsed the assault following heavy gunfight.
Puntland in turn accused Galmudug of igniting the fighting in the borderline areas in Mudug region, according to a senior army official, who served as deputy Mudug governor.
The officer denied of attacking the area, and described the accusation as baseless.
This comes amid peace agreement signed recently between Galmudug and Puntland states over the recurrent Galkayo conflict, began 1991, which has been killed hundreds of people.
