A leading HirShabelle Presidential aspirant, Mohamed Abdi Waare, has on Saturday arrived in Jowhar ahead of the election which is scheduled expected to be held next Tuesday.

The Candidate and his delegation has been cordially welcomed by elders, MPs and civil society upon arrival at the airstrip of Jowhar, located about 90Km north of Mogadishu.

Reports said, Waare is set to hold meetings with local elders, community and members of HirShabelle parliament in Jowhar city, as part of his election campaign.

A number of Presidential hopefuls have been pouring into Jowhar for the past few days, to run to the top seat of HirShabelle President. The state MPs will pick the next leader.

The security of the city has been extremely tightened ahead of the polls.
