Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and a high-level delegation he was leading have arrived in Galkayo, the regional capital of Mudug on Saturday.

President Farmajo accompanied by ministers, Federal MPs, and other key government officials received a warm welcomed from cheering resident clan in the national flag.

The overall security of Galkayo has been extremely beefed up by Puntland and Galmudug forces ahead of the President’s arrival, according to Radio Shabelle’s reporter in the city.

This is the first leg of Farmajo’s trip to several towns in Galmudug state in central Somalia after wrapping up his week-long visit to the neighboring Puntland.
