Somali government forces, along with the African Union troops pushed Al Shabaab militants out of fresh areas in Lower Shabelle region following a joint operation.

Abdifitah Hajji Abdulle, the governor of Lower Shabelle region, told Radio Shabelle that the allied soldiers recaptured Mukay Dumis, Digta Goosaarow and Iidow Gudow villages.

Abdulle said the operation will continue until Al Shabaab fighters being eliminated from the whole region, as he put it.
