Security guards for a member of Somalia’s Federal Parliament have shot and killed at least two civilians, and wounded in Mogadishu on Monday.

An eyewitness has confirmed to Radio Shabelle that the MP’s body guards have been arrested after killing the civilians in the main Makka Al-Mukarama street in the capital.

The soldiers are being held at the criminal investigation department (CID) at KM-4 area, where they are currently undergoing an inquiry into the incident, according to the sources.

The shooting took place at Tre-piano area, near KM4 junction, where dozens of rickshaw drivers have been holding a rally against the government in the early hours of the day.
