Two people have been wounded in a hand grenade attack in the Baidoa town of Bay region on Wednesday, about 250km southeast of the capital Mogadishu, officials said.
Sources within security forces told Radio Shabelle that assailants have thrown a grenade into a house belonging to Bay regional women’s Association Murayo Ibrahim Madeer.
The wounded have been taken to hospital, she said.
Police launched an investigation into the incident, according to security sources.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the overnight bomb attack, but, authorities blamed Al Shabaab for being behind the latest incident.
